Altia announces that Senior Applications Engineer David Marker will speak at ARM TechCon3 (formerly The ARM Developers Conference), which will be held from October 21-23, 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. This conference, organized by the ARM Partner ecosystem, serves as the premier opportunity for interaction between engineers exploring or currently designing ARM hardware, software and systems. Mr. Marker is scheduled to speak about “Leveraging Graphical Code Generators for Optimal User Experience and Lowest Cost” on Friday, October 23.

During his presentation, Mr. Marker will discuss what important choices must be made during new product development, specifically regarding the user interface and the hardware that will run the final product. Whether development begins with pre-selected hardware or a clearly defined interface concept from Marketing, Mr. Marker will discuss how rapid development with code generation is essential for making the right choice about pairing platforms with user interfaces. He will show how, when hardware is pre-selected, target-specific code generation is utilized to create a variety of interfaces and deployed to that processor – allowing developers to “test-drive” them and deliver the optimal experience for that hardware. When a user interface is “suggested” by Marketing, Mr. Marker will demonstrate how a development team can create an interface to defined specifications and provide the capability to “try on” different hardware until the best fit is found for Marketing’s interface.

Since 2003, Mr. Marker has been a Senior Applications Engineer at Altia. In addition to creating a variety of hardware ports for Altia’s DeepScreen code generator, he also provides training and support to Altia customers worldwide. Before joining Altia, Mr. Marker worked as a software developer at Interpro Technology, Inc. and as senior embedded software engineer at Professional Software Associates as a senior embedded software engineer, where he provided consulting services to Wind River Systems on the BMW E60 in-car navigation system. He received a B.S. in Computer Science from Michigan State University in 1996.
